Travel Respiratory Therapist (Contract)Location: Pontiac, MIContract Duration: 13 Weeks (with the option to extend)Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 36 hours weeklyStart Date: ASAPJob Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience providing high-quality respiratory care in diverse clinical settings, with the flexibility to adapt to new environments and work with different patient populations. As a traveling therapist, you'll be responsible for delivering respiratory care across various healthcare facilities, ensuring patients receive optimal respiratory support.Key Responsibilities:Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct patient assessments to evaluate respiratory status, history, and risk factors, including vital signs, lab results, and pulmonary function.Ventilator Management: Operate and monitor ventilators for both adult and pediatric patients in ICU, ER, and other clinical settings.Treatment Administration: Administer oxygen therapy, nebulized treatments, and aerosolized medications as prescribed. Provide manual ventilation for patients in respiratory distress.Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations such as code blues, respiratory arrests, and other critical care needs.Patient Education: Educate patients and families on respiratory health, breathing techniques, home oxygen use, and medication management.Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement respiratory care plans.Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and interventions.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that respiratory equipment is properly calibrated, cleaned, and maintained according to facility protocols.Qualifications:Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.Licensure: Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in the state of assignment.
