About the Position

Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: Pediatric Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Mon-Thurs Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Must meet eligibility requirements for MRI Certification Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Must have pediatric experience. Preferred experience with Philips equipment. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. Services will be provided to pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of various conditions. Responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions. Preparation of patients for procedures and correlation of clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians are essential. Communication and collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams are crucial to achieve desirable clinical outcomes. Utilization of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures is required. Conducting post-procedure reviews to confirm completion and documentation of all required elements is expected. Images and data must be transferred to appropriate archival systems, with technical data and findings prepared for physician reporting. Operator-level quality control checks and maintenance of equipment per regulatory guidelines are necessary. Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities is important to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Required skills include ability to work as part of a team and to follow instructions consistently. Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs is essential. Accurate record-keeping and the ability to work with names, numbers, and codes are required. Candidates must demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress is necessary. Understanding operations, policies, and procedures is vital. Proficient communication with staff, patients, and families in a professional manner is required. Candidates must display a high level of initiative and commitment. Attention to detail and the capability to work with minimum supervision are important. Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology is expected, along with understanding terminology associated with the primary specialty. Candidates should possess the skill to apply primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques for documentation and data analysis with general supervision. Required education includes graduation from a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or from a JRCERT accredited program with an emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. An associate's degree or higher is preferred. Preferred certifications do not apply.
