Pilates Studio Fitness Manager and Team Leader
Bodybar Pilates
Benefits: Paid time off Training & development Bonus based on performance Flexible schedule Fitness Manager | BODYBAR Pilates Set the Bar. Lead the Team. Create an Experience People Can't Wait to Come Back To. At BODYBAR Pilates we believe we're in the people business first. Every class is an opportunity to help someone feel stronger, more confident, and more connected. Our classes may be what initially bring someone through our doors, but the experience they have inside those classes is what turns a first-time guest into a member, a member into a lifelong advocate, and a group of instructors into an incredible team. At the center of that experience is our Fitness Manager. The Fitness Manager sets the bar and sets the tone. We're looking for an exceptional Pilates instructor and inspiring, people-focused leader who loves developing instructors, creating an incredible member experience, and building a team that genuinely loves what they do. This is a highly involved, hands-on leadership position that combines Pilates expertise, instructor development, organization, strategy, business growth, and an incredible ability to bring energy to a room. You'll teach classes, mentor instructors, create meaningful team experiences, oversee the studio, and help shape the culture and success of both East Wichita and Auburn Hills. You won't simply manage the fitness team - you'll lead it. Why You'll Love Working Here Complimentary BODYBAR Pilates classes Competitive compensation and opportunities for performance-based growth Opportunities for continued career growth and leadership development Employee discounts on BODYBAR apparel and Pilates studio offerings A highly collaborative relationship with studio leadership and ownership The opportunity to directly influence the growth, culture, and fitness experience of our Wichita studios A positive, supportive team that celebrates wins together and genuinely enjoys coming to work About BODYBAR Pilates BODYBAR Pilates is a rapidly growing boutique fitness franchise dedicated to helping people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives through our signature BODYBAR Method. Our classes combine strength, precision, and intentional movement in a welcoming environment where every member feels seen, supported, and challenged. Everything we do is rooted in our core value of CHEER - bringing positivity, encouragement, and purpose to every interaction. Whether we're celebrating a member's first class or their hundredth, we believe people should leave our studios feeling stronger than when they walked in. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal Fitness Manager is someone who leads from the front. You genuinely love Pilates and have exceptional knowledge of the BODYBAR Method and Block System. You understand what makes a technically strong class- but just as importantly, you understand what makes a class an experience. You know how great programming, coaching, music, energy, connection, challenge, and attention to the individual member comes together to create a class people can't wait to take again. You're an exceptional instructor yourself. You teach some of the strongest, most engaging classes on the schedule and understand that leadership starts by modeling the standard you're asking others to meet. But being a great instructor isn't enough. You're also a great leader. You're a natural motivator who genuinely enjoys developing people. You build relationships, earn trust, celebrate wins, and create an environment where instructors feel seen, supported, and inspired to improve. You're comfortable giving honest, constructive feedback, setting clear expectations, and having difficult conversations when necessary. You understand that great leadership requires both encouragement and accountability. You're highly organized, dependable, and an excellent communicator. You can balance the many moving pieces of a successful fitness department, from scheduling and instructor development to equipment maintenance, teacher training, member engagement, and business performance. You're also strategic. You pay attention to class utilization, instructor performance, membership trends, and opportunities for growth. You understand that exceptional class experiences and healthy business results go hand in hand. Most importantly, you understand that you help create the culture of the studio. You're present. You're involved. You're excited to pour your heart and energy into our Wichita studios, our members, and our instructor team. Your energy matters. Your leadership matters. Your classes matter. The way you support your instructors matters. You are the hype. You set the standard. And you help the people around you rise to it. What Success Looks Like Success in this role isn't simply checking tasks off a list. It's seeing the instructor and class side of our studios become stronger because of your leadership. Success can be felt in the energy of the studios - and seen in the health of the business. When you're successful: Class utilization continues to grow, members are highly engaged, and classes are filling consistently, creating opportunities to expand the schedule. Prospective members have exceptional class experiences that inspire them to become part of the BODYBAR community. Membership growth and retention are positively influenced by the quality and consistency of our fitness program. Instructors feel seen, supported, encouraged, guided, and accountable. Every instructor understands and consistently delivers the BODYBAR Method and Block System while bringing their own personality and energy to class. Instructors receive regular, meaningful feedback and are continually growing in their teaching abilities. High-performing instructors are recognized and challenged to keep growing, while instructors who need additional support receive clear coaching and direction. New instructors feel confident, prepared, and supported as they transition from teacher training into regular teaching. Our studios maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective instructors and teacher-training candidates. The instructor team feels connected and excited about upcoming themes, events, pop-ups, continuing education, and team experiences. Class coverage is reliable and organized, with clear expectations and shared accountability that help minimize last-minute challenges. Our studio schedules are thoughtfully designed around member demand, instructor strengths, utilization, and business needs. Equipment is well maintained, studio concerns are addressed proactively, and our fitness operations run smoothly. Studio leadership and ownership have a clear understanding of fitness department performance because you're bringing thoughtful observations, data, solutions, and recommendations. Members consistently experience the quality, energy, connection, and professionalism that define BODYBAR. You lead by example and create a team culture that instructors are proud to be part of. What You'll Do Lead, Inspire & Develop Our Instructor Team Own the overall leadership, performance, development, and culture of the instructor team across both Wichita studios. Set clear expectations for class quality, professionalism, reliability, member experience, and adherence to the BODYBAR Method. Maintain a strong, consistent presence in both studios and build meaningful relationships with instructors and members. Motivate, encourage, coach, and challenge instructors to continue becoming their best selves. Be a trusted resource instructors can turn to for guidance, questions, support, and professional development. Understand the strengths and growth opportunities of each instructor and provide individualized support. Lead by example through exceptional teaching, professionalism, communication, and accountability. Foster a positive, collaborative team environment where instructors feel valued, connected, and excited to come to work. Own Class Quality & Instructor Development Regularly take instructor classes to experience the studio from the member perspective and evaluate overall class quality. Provide frequent, honest, encouraging, and actionable mini-feedback to instructors. Conduct formal instructor quality evaluations twice per year. Maintain consistent standards for programming, coaching, safety, member engagement, and execution of the BODYBAR Method and Block System. Identify opportunities for instructor growth, continuing education, mentorship, and additional training. Support instructors who need improvement with clear feedback, expectations, and follow-through. Celebrate instructors who consistently deliver exceptional experiences. Maintain overall quality control of the BODYBAR fitness experience. Own Scheduling, Subbing & Coverage Build and maintain the instructor schedules for both Wichita studios. Create and manage weekend teaching rotations. Manage NetGym sub approvals and maintain awareness of coverage needs. Establish and enforce clear scheduling and subbing expectations that promote reliability and accountability. Be a go-to resource when coverage challenges arise, helping instructors find appropriate solutions. Serve as the final line of defense for class coverage and step in to teach when necessary. Proactively identify recurring scheduling or coverage challenges and develop solutions. Analyze utilization, member demand, instructor performance, and scheduling trends to recommend adjustments and class additions. Recruit, Hire & Mentor New Instructors Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective instructors and teacher-training candidates. Communicate with interested candidates and guide them through the teacher-training process. Interview, evaluate, and select instructor candidates. Oversee instructor hiring and onboarding. Mentor new instructors as they transition from training into teaching independently. Help newly trained instructors develop confidence, refine their programming, and understand studio expectations. Ensure new instructors are prepared to deliver exceptional BODYBAR classes and member experiences. Anticipate future staffing needs and plan proactively for the continued growth of the fitness team. Build Team Culture, Connection & Engagement Plan and execute instructor gatherings, team events, playtime sessions, teaching opportunities, pop-ups, and other experiences that strengthen team connection. Create excitement and direction around upcoming themes, events, promotions, and fitness initiatives. Look for creative ways to keep instructors motivated, engaged, and excited about BODYBAR. Encourage collaboration, learning, and the sharing of ideas across the instructor team. Celebrate team wins, recognize individual contributions, and create opportunities for instructors to feel appreciated. Help foster a studio environment where both members and instructors feel a genuine sense of community and belonging. Analyze Studio Health & Drive Growth Regularly review FitGrid, NetGym, and other relevant studio data to monitor class utilization, member engagement, instructor performance, and overall studio health. Understand which classes, instructors, times, and experiences are performing strongly and where opportunities for improvement exist. Monitor membership trends, prospect conversions, and instructor-related sales performance. Understand how class quality, instructor engagement, and the overall fitness experience contribute to member retention and membership growth. Identify opportunities to improve class utilization, adjust the schedule, add classes, and strengthen the fitness program. Bring thoughtful, data-informed recommendations and solutions to ownership. Collaborate with studio leadership to support sales initiatives, membership promotions, and business-growth strategies. Attend relevant corporate calls and stay informed on BODYBAR standards, initiatives, promotions, and updates. Create an Exceptional Member Experience Lead by example by consistently delivering outstanding BODYBAR classes. Help instructors create welcoming, challenging, engaging, and memorable experiences for every member. Stay connected to member feedback and identify opportunities to improve the class experience. Encourage instructors to build authentic relationships with members and celebrate their progress. Support an environment where prospective members leave their first class excited to return. Ensure every class reflects the energy, professionalism, and quality that define BODYBAR. Support Special Events & Additional Fitness Opportunities Coordinate and delegate private sessions and private parties among qualified instructors. Support Pilates-related events, pop-ups, and special member experiences. Identify opportunities for instructors to contribute to studio initiatives and expand their involvement. Collaborate with studio leadership on creative experiences that increase member engagement and strengthen community. Maintain Studio & Equipment Excellence Oversee Pilates equipment maintenance and maintain organized records of equipment needs, repairs, and ongoing care. Proactively identify and address equipment concerns before they affect the member experience. Coordinate and support regular equipment cleaning and maintenance standards across both studios. Ensure the studio spaces reflect BODYBAR's standards for cleanliness, organization, safety, and professionalism. Serve as a primary point of contact when class-related issues arise, including instructor concerns, equipment problems, injuries, or unexpected incidents. Respond calmly and appropriately to situations requiring immediate leadership attention. Ensure class-related policies and procedures are clearly communicated, understood, and followed. Partner With Studio Leadership & Ownership Work closely with the Studio Manager to create a seamless connection between the class experience, member experience, and sales side of the business. Support studio leadership with instructor involvement, fitness-related initiatives, and operational needs. Maintain proactive, open communication with ownership regarding fitness department performance, challenges, opportunities, and needs. Translate ownership's vision into actionable strategies and consistent experiences within the studios. Bring solutions, ideas, observations, and opportunities to leadership.
