Senior IT Project Manager

Overview ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on‑site with our client. This Senior IT Project Manager will lead complex technology projects from planning through implementation and closeout, overseeing system integrations, contracts, vendors, budgets, quality, and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree, 8+ years of IT project management experience, expertise in project delivery and technology implementations, and strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. PMP certification and public sector or transit industry experience are preferred. Work sponsorship is not available, and third‑party candidates will not be considered. This full‑time position is located in Everett, WA. Pay range: $74.97 - $84.42. Establish project goals, strategies, timelines, budgets, and execution plans. Lead the implementation and integration of new technologies with existing systems and platforms. Evaluate technical analyses and develop recommendations for leadership and decision-makers. Manage project contracts, consultant services, and interagency agreements in accordance with organizational procedures. Coordinate, direct, and monitor the work of consultants, contractors, and project teams. Track project progress and contractor performance to ensure successful project completion. Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and deliver clear project communications, status updates, and documentation for stakeholders, leadership, and project teams. Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, issues, and scope changes. Facilitate collaboration across cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to support project objectives. Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. Oversee project closeout activities, including transfer of ownership, documentation, and lessons learned. Support continuous improvement and transparency by addressing communication and process challenges. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Technology, or a closely related field. 8 or more years of professional experience in IT project management or a related field. Experience managing the implementation of technology projects. Experience leading complex projects from planning through implementation and closeout. Experience administering contracts and overseeing consultants, vendors, or contractors. Experience organizing, presenting, facilitating, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders and user groups. Experience with quality assurance and coordination of program development, procurement, and technology implementation activities. Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, principles, and best practices. Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and communication planning. Knowledge of vendor management, contract development, performance management, and financial management. Understanding of technology concepts, systems integration, and IT teams. Knowledge of contract and budget administration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, planning, leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and scheduling applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines effectively. Ability to analyze data and evaluate emerging technologies. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Project Management Professional (PMP) or other Project Management certification preferred. Experience in the transit industry, public sector, or government environment. Knowledge of transit business operations, passenger information systems, and customer service technology. Familiarity with public agency policies, procedures, and procurement practices. Experience working with client or service technology platforms.
