Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant supports internal accounting processes, maintains financial accuracy, and drives continuous process improvements. Partnering cross-functionally across Bland Landscaping, this role ensures the timely, accurate processing of financial transactions, billing, and reporting. Core Responsibiliti es General Ledger & Month- EndDaily Operations & Close: Support daily accounting functions, transactional accuracy, and month-end clo Journal Entries: Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries with complete supporting documentati Reconciliations & Fixed Assets: Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledg er. Accounts Receivable & Bil lingBilling & Contracts: Review branch billing data and client contracts to ensure accurate, timely invoic ing.Cash Application: Perform daily cash management, posting incoming receipts to the accounts receivable sub-led ger.Collections: Review aging reports, contact delinquent accounts, and resolve billing discrepanc ies. Compliance & Audit Su pportTax & Audit: Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns and assist with annual audit requ ests.Documentation & Projects: Document standard accounting processes and assist with special projects as ne eded. Qualifications & Requir ements Education & Exp erienceMinimum: Associate degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education and expe rience.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience. Service-related industry experience is n SkillsSystems: Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is r equired.Collaboration: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
