Adult Mental Health/Substance Use Therapist

Do you have a passion for providing confidential mental health, addiction and co-occurring counseling services in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a flexible schedule and Friday afternoons off? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as an Adult Mental Health/Substance Use Therapist and make a difference in our community.

In addition to providing counseling, as a Mental Health/Substance Use Therapist you will be responsible for leading a variety of groups as well as performing face-to-face clinical evaluations and assessments to make sure people receive quality services that are appropriate to their level of need. You will complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours and will have considerable knowledge of brief solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, personality development, diagnosis, different treatment theories and techniques, such as insight-oriented therapy, interpersonal therapy, reality therapy, and value clarification. Youll have a flexible schedule with Friday afternoons off!

What We Require: You will be a Masters level licensed professional with a minimum of one year of experience, three years strongly preferred. You will have extensive knowledge of the DSM V diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have a CAADC or ability to secure a CAADC with a development plan through MCBAP and a LMSW/LLMSW, LPC/LLPC.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions: Physical Efforts Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer monitor for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
