We are looking for an HR Generalist to support day-to-day people operations and help create a positive, well-organized employee experience for our client in Covington, Louisiana. This role will serve as a key partner to leaders and employees by providing guidance on employee matters, administering core HR programs, and maintaining accurate records and processes. The ideal candidate brings practical HR knowledge, strong judgment, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across onboarding, benefits, leave administration, and policy support.

Responsibilities:

• Advise supervisors on performance discussions, corrective action steps, and appropriate documentation to support consistent employee management practices.

• Handle employee relations matters by reviewing concerns, conducting workplace inquiries, and helping determine balanced, policy-aligned outcomes.

• Maintain organized and confidential personnel documentation while ensuring HR records remain accurate and up to date.

• Lead orientation for both in-office and remote employees to ensure a smooth and informed start to employment.

• Oversee employee departures, including exit conversations and coordination of final pay details in partnership with internal stakeholders.

• Administer benefit enrollments, annual enrollment activities, and communication with benefit providers to support employee coverage needs.

• Manage leave programs and workplace accommodations, including parental leave, state-specific leave, and other protected absences in accordance with applicable requirements.

• Work closely with Finance each pay cycle to provide payroll-related updates for staffing additions, employee changes, and separations.

• Update HR policies and the employee handbook as legal requirements and business needs evolve, and support annual performance review and compensation planning activities.

• Track key people metrics such as staffing levels, turnover, and time-to-fill, while also helping coordinate engagement, recognition, and training initiatives for employees in Covington, Louisiana and remote team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related area of study.

• 2 to 4 years of broad HR experience, preferably within an organization of approximately 50 to 250 employees.

• Demonstrated background in onboarding, benefits administration, and leave coordination.

• Practical experience using an HRIS or payroll platform such as Paylocity, Rippling, or a similar system.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization.

• Experience supporting multi-site teams or remote employees is preferred.

• Prior involvement in developing or improving HR processes within a growing company is a plus.
