Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week required
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line care/management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with respiratory care including ventilated patients, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced intermediate care/step-down setting
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Manage patients requiring wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
• Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
