Consumer Protection Attorney

Responsibilities Play a significant role in all stages of litigation, including but not limited to: drafting pleadings, drafting motions and briefs, assisting with all phases of discovery including written discovery, document review/management, and taking and defending depositions, playing a critical role in class certification discovery and briefing, working closely with experts, conducting trials and/or overseeing class settlement processes and procedures. Participate in case strategy discussions and use creative approaches to solve novel issues of law. Identify new areas for potential litigation and lead investigations into potential cases. Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Washington, D.C. or ability to waive into D.C. promptly. 7+ years of relevant legal experience; at least 5 of which are litigation focused. At least some experience with class action litigation is strongly preferred. Knowledge of consumer protection laws is preferred but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Dedication to playing a significant role in developing a new practice group. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
