About the Position

Job Title: RN Step Down Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test Must-Have: Highly motivated nurses are required to work in a Cardiac Stepdown Unit. Description: Unit Capacity: 23 beds. Population served includes patients with heart diagnoses. Experience with sheaths and external pacemakers is preferred. Ages of patients served range from young adults to late adults (18 - 60+). Nurse to patient ratios are 4 to 5:1, based on patient acuity. The core staffing plan includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), patient care technicians (PCTs), and nurse interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team. BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications are required.
