Job Title: Rapid Response Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training required Must-Have: Labor and delivery experience, including the ability to care for mothers during labor and recovery. Experience in receiving and transitioning newborns, including assessment. Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential obstetric emergencies preferred. Advanced skills in fetal monitoring and experience with inductions. Description: This position is for a Rapid Response Nurse specializing in labor and delivery. The unit features 9 beds for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, along with a neonatal intensive care unit. Patient ratios are 1:1 for active labors and C-sections, and 1:3 for couplet care and newborns. Nurses are expected to float within the facility as needed. Daily rounding on all patients is required to enhance patient experience and safety. The unit is led by a team of experienced nurses, providing opportunities for mentorship and skill development. Team collaboration and support are strong, fostering a positive work environment. This role offers exposure to a range of procedures performed on the unit, including C-sections and intra-uterine monitoring. All required policies and guidelines are accessible for reference.
