In this role, you will provide excellent customer service while assisting with counter service, preparing specialty sandwiches, and supporting daily kitchen operations. Responsibilities also include preparing items for the deli and hot case, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring all food quality and health safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, has a strong understanding of food safety practices, and enjoys creating a positive experience for customers and teammates alike./ppEssential duties and responsibilities include:/pulliProvide excellent customer service by giving customers immediate and full attention./liliAnswer customer questions and follow up on requests./liliOffer product samples to customers./liliAssist the Department Manager and team with general kitchen tasks./liliPrepare food items following recipes and be confident creating your own dishes./liliWork with the Department Manager to develop new hot case and deli items./liliEnsure all food meets company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation./liliFollow food safety guidelines and use kitchen tools and equipment safely./liliKeep department supplies stocked and organized./liliKeep shelves and cases clean, stocked, and properly rotated./liliMake sure pricing and signage are accurate./liliStay informed about new products and where they are located./liliKeep the work and shopping areas safe, clean, and well-organized./liliRecord product transfers, waste, and spoilage correctly./liliPackage and wrap items properly for sale./liliUnderstand product preparation and nutritional information./liliKeep back stock and cooler areas clean and organized./liliBe able to explain how our products differ from those in conventional stores./liliMaintain regular and reliable attendance./li/ulpQualifications to succeed in this role include:/pulliStrong customer service skills and a positive, friendly attitude/liliPassionate about food and helping others/liliValid Oregon Food Handlers card required/liliAbility to handle multiple tasks at once/liliEagerness to learn about the departments products/liliFollow instructions and procedures with attention to detail/liliAbility to operate department equipment safely and effectively/liliGood time management, a strong work ethic, and integrity/liliCapable of answering customer questions clearly and with a helpful attitude/liliFlexible schedule availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department needs/li/ulpIdeal candidates will have at least 2 years of restaurant cooking and/or 2 years of customer service experience./ppAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents (instructions and vendor information). Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, managers, and customers./ppStrong basic math skills including the ability to add, multiply, divide, subtract, and calculate percentages./ppAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
