American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a Pediatric OR position requiring a minimum of 2 years scrubbing experience and BLS certification.

Acute care hospital setting within a 30-suite OR department, with 3 to 4 pediatric surgery cases running daily.

Patient population includes pediatric general, ENT, dental, urology, ophthalmology, and simple ortho cases, with some adult cases.

Staffing model includes 1 RN and 1 Surgical Tech per OR, on call as needed.

Uses Epic EMR.

Four 10-hour day shifts (0700-1730) Monday through Friday with no set day off.

Weekend call required on a rotation of 1 weekend every 4 weeks (Saturday 0700 through Monday 0700).

Holiday call shifts required as applicable during the contract, covering 24 hours of the holiday.

Call response time of 30 minutes required.

Floats within the department (ortho, neuro, general, cardiac, SPD) as needed for staffing.

Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing required, pediatric experience preferred.

BLS certification required.

Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program required.

Surgical Technologist certification not required.

Active IL license required if applicable.

Negative drug screen required for all panels.

Primary charge nurse on duty daily with 24/7 house supervisor coverage.

May primary scrub in general cases depending on experience level while floating.

Self-scheduling available, balanced prior to publication to maintain fairness across weekends.

Facility provides scrubs which must remain on-site.

Unit-specific orientation includes 1-2 days with a surgery department educator followed by 2-3 days of OR orientation to cases and surgeons.
