The role involves both circulating and recovering patients in a rural hospital setting. Candidates must be versatile and able to handle various cases including ambulatory procedures, appendectomies, and cholecystectomies. The nurse will participate in procedures such as colon resection, colonoscopy, EGD, and total joint replacement. The ability to respond to codes and ensure fire safety in the operating room is crucial. This position may require the nurse to be on call, including holidays and weekends. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services and pharmacy. Candidates will work with patients across a range of age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The commitment to working three out of five holidays is essential. Traveling nurses may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Timely and clear communication is key, and the provider must adhere to workplace policies.
