HR Generalist

Bilingual HR Generalist in San Diego, CA LHH has partnered with a growing construction company in San Diego that is seeking a Bilingual HR Generalist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a hands‑on HR role supporting a fast‑paced workforce and is ideal for someone with experience in construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or other industrial environments. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish, knowledgeable in California employment laws, safety programs, and employee relations, and comfortable partnering with employees and leadership at all levels. Responsibilities Support daily HR operations including employee relations, onboarding, benefits, and performance management Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and new hire orientation Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Handle workers' compensation, leave administration, and return-to-work processes Support workplace safety initiatives, trainings, and OSHA compliance efforts Partner with managers and employees to address HR-related concerns and provide guidance Assist with investigations, corrective actions, and policy administration Support employee engagement initiatives and other HR projects as needed Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish required 3+ years of HR Generalist experience Experience within construction, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or similar industries required Knowledge of workplace safety programs and OSHA compliance Strong understanding of California labor laws and HR best practices Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities Compensation $40.00 - $46.00/hour Contract-to-Hire opportunity Opportunity for long-term growth with a stable and growing organization Collaborative and team‑oriented work environment Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM On‑site position in San Diego, CA Pay Details: $40.00 to $46.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
