Senior Business Developer - Trucking Division

Overview The Trucking Division of Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Business Developer to manage agency relationships across the Southeast, Midwest, and Northwestern regions. This position will be fully remote with the expectation of travel of 1‑2 weeks per month. Candidates located in these regions are highly desired. Learn more about our Trucking Division at Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Develop strategic marketing plans, considering agency strengths, competitors, and market conditions. Identify and secure profitable new business opportunities in target markets and implement strategic plans to increase market share. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key agencies by providing tailored insurance solutions that meet their specific needs, leading to increased agency retention and satisfaction. Educate agencies on product features, market placement, and effective selling techniques. Drive revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets and develop cross‑selling and up‑selling strategies. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing strategic decision‑making. Prospect for new agency appointments within assigned territory. Find, onboard, and develop new agency relationships. Attend truck conferences throughout the year with occasional (rare) weekend travel. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of related underwriting or business development experience is required. Previous trucking or commercial auto experience is strongly preferred. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills. Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
