Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years in the specialty. The ideal candidate will possess skills in labor and delivery, postpartum care, C-section circulation, and special care nursery within an LDRP model.

Position Information

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (3x12) - Nights with Self-Scheduling
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: As needed
Call Requirements: Yes
Required Certifications: NRP (Required), BLS (Required), ACLS
AWHONN Intermediate: Preferred
Experience Requirement: Minimum 2 years
Float Requirements: None

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 24
Patient Ratios: 1:6, with a unit census ranging from 3 to 24 patients
Equipment Used: EFM, IV
EHR: EPIC, Powerchart / Omnicell Med System
Patient Population: Neonates & Adults

Responsibilities

Manage care for a 3 couplet assignment
Triage obstetrical patients
Utilize External Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
Start and maintain peripheral IVs
Administer antihypertensives and insulin drips
Assist with vaginal deliveries
Recover and care for C-section patients
Perform APGAR scoring and newborn assessments
Complete necessary procedures including ID/Security banding and thermoregulation
Administer epidural anesthesia and conduct pain assessment/management
Provide comprehensive postpartum care and management

Preferred Skills/Experience

Experience in a Level 1 Nursery and Mother/Baby care
C-section circulation

Qualifications

Must have relevant experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D), LDRP, and postpartum care

Dress Code

The required scrub color is Navy Blue.

Personality Fit

Seeking candidates with a professional demeanor and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
