We have an exciting opportunity for a Directorate Lead Pharmacist to join the Health in Justice service at Practice Plus Group.

You will work across the South and IRCs directorate which covers our prisons in the South of England and our Immigration Removal Centres in Heathrow, Gatwick and Derwentside.

This role is home based, with travel to sites across the directorate as required.

This is a leadership Pharmacist position within the directorate leadership team and is responsible for leading pharmacy services across Health in Justice.

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.

You will receive an annual salary of £75,000 to £80,000 per annum.

As a Directorate Lead Pharmacist your responsibilities will vary. You will:

• Lead pharmacy services across the directorate.
• Provide expert clinical advice on medicines management, polypharmacy, and medicines optimisation.
• Develop pharmacy leadership capability among pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Promote best practice and evidence-based prescribing.
• Ensure safe, legal, high-quality pharmacy services across the directorate.
• Lead clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Review drug-related incidents, complaints, investigations, and patient safety events.
• Support compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
• Contribute to quality assurance frameworks and continuous improvement programmes.
• Support service development, innovation, business growth, and mobilisation of new contracts.
• Maintain awareness of national developments affecting healthcare and pharmacy practice.
• Work with NHS commissioners, NHS England, external providers, patients, and professional bodies.
• Represent the organisation at regional and national forums and conferences.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

• A Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) including pre-registration training.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Current full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Significant experience in a senior pharmacy leadership role.
• Experience implementing evidence-based medicines optimisation programmes.
• Strong experience working collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Experience leading teams and driving service improvement.
• Knowledge of healthcare governance, quality assurance, and patient safety processes.
