Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgery. The role includes maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, performing patient assessments, delivering pre and post-operative education, and monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments.
• Create and maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding surgical care.
• Monitor patient vitals and emotional well-being during the surgical process.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth flow of operations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of current Operating Room experience.
• Float experience in vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT.
• Travel experience is required.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in both scrub and circulate roles.
• Valid New York Nursing License.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Candidate must have their own vehicle.
