Welder, Combination, Maintenance This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter preforming the following tasks. Responsibilities Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding. Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders. Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe, or templates. Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces that require welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Participates in special projects, as required. Qualifications Skills: Blueprints, Welding, Welding Procedures. Certifications: None. Experience: 1+ years of related experience. Education: High School Diploma/GED. Citizenship: United States Citizenship required. Location: On Customer Site (USA WA Seattle). Travel Required: 10‑25%. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 and $34.50. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements.
