We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Resource Room Assistant to support students in achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and to contribute to the overall success of our small school community. This full-time, permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while building strong relationships within our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist students in working toward their IEP goals under the guidance of their special education case manager.

- Conduct individual and small group interactions in a resource room setting to support student learning and development.

- Lead sections of study skills classes to help students develop essential academic strategies.

- Provide day-to-day substitute coverage for classes across grades 7-12 as needed.

- Support various daily duties including morning routines, lunch supervision, and other responsibilities to ensure a smooth school day.

- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and the school community, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Prior experience working with students with special needs or in an educational support role preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and staff.

- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and support diverse learning needs.

- Reliable, flexible, and proactive with a positive attitude.

- Knowledge of IEP processes and special education strategies is a plus.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in education or related fields is advantageous.

Public school certification is required; secondary level content area certification is preferred.
