Forklift Operator - 1st or 2nd shift

divh2Equipment Operator/h2pThe Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment used in the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for the purpose of transferring, sorting and/or baling recycled materials in an efficient and safe manner including operating multiple types of equipment like forklifts, skid steer, recycling balers, and payloaders/excavators. 2nd Shift only/ph2Key Responsibilities/h2ulliAssists in the maintenance of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF)./liliPerforms pre/post operation inspection of equipment in accordance with safety standards as well as state and federal regulations to ensure all safety equipment and devices are operational and secured properly to equipment./liliMonitors recycled materials for evidence of unacceptable or hazardous waste in materials./liliInspects the condition of the equipment frequently to ensure it is always operationally ready to minimize downtime and cleans wheels on equipment as needed./liliOperates equipment following all safety and training protocols and ensures that the facility is properly maintained./liliProvides technicians with detailed information about mechanical issues to ensure equipment can be repaired in a timely manner./liliParticipates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values./li/ulpCareer Path Definitions Distinctions:/ppApprentice: Demonstrates an understanding of the recycling process and completes all initial required safety training necessary to operate a forklift and recycling baler. Exhibits an understanding of company policies and safety standards along with Casellas Core Values./ppOperator I: Demonstrates a complete understanding of Casellas lockout tagout procedures and has the ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Has an ability to complete pre-trip/operations checklists properly before operating equipment. Demonstrates the ability to operate both a forklift and a recycling baler while following all safety standards. Expresses interest in learning to operate an additional piece of equipment./ppOperator II: Exhibits development and improvement of communication skills with customers and coworkers. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the various types of acceptable and unacceptable materials. Has the ability to operate three of the following pieces of equipment involved in recycling operations: recycling baler, forklift, skid steer, loader/excavator. Expresses interest in learning to operate an additional piece of equipment. Is working toward completion of obtaining hoisting license./ppLead Operator: Demonstrates a complete understanding of the recycling process and all acceptable and unacceptable materials. Is able to operate all equipment involved in recycling operations. Possesses the ability and self-confidence to interact with customers, coworkers, and managers in an effective and courteous manner. Exhibits the ability to direct other operators in daily responsibilities. Possesses a 2a and 1c hoisting license issued by the state. Demonstrates the ability to train and mentor other operators and actively participates in the companys progress with the career path program to help operators move up in their careers./ph2Education, Experience Qualifications/h2pThe successful candidate will be at least 18 years of age, have an ability and willingness to work under many different weather conditions, and be legally eligible to work in the US.
