I am partnered with an international cost and project delivery consultancy with their US headquarters located here in Manhattan supporting project work nationally across the United States. With nearly 40 years in business and having delivered projects across 11 countries they have started to gain real momentum here in the US with the team doubling in size inside the last 12 months.

Working directly with investors, developers, landlords and occupiers they focus across Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Renewables, Residential and Corporate Interiors.

Your new role
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an Associate Director to its Cost Management team in New York . This is a senior, client-facing position for an experienced Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor who wants to take greater ownership of clients, projects and people while becoming an important part of the continued development of the business.

The role combines hands-on project delivery, client leadership, team management and business development .

As an Associate Cost Director ,  you will join a team focused on managing project costs across all stages of construction, ensuring effective cost control, accurate reporting, and strong client collaboration. The successful candidate will bring solid experience in construction cost management and the ability to lead cost planning and commercial activities on a range of project types.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role as an Associate Director, you will have 8+ years’ experience in a Cost Management or Quantity Surveying capacity taking a lead for the delivery of cost management services across a portfolio of projects, working directly with clients and providing commercial leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the delivery of cost management and quantity surveying services from early feasibility and preconstruction through procurement, construction and final account.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Providing strategic cost and commercial advice, helping clients make informed decisions throughout the development and construction process.
• Leading budgeting, estimating, cost planning, procurement, tender analysis, change management, cost reporting and commercial close-out.
• Taking ownership of the commercial performance and overall quality of assigned commissions.
• Leading and mentoring Cost Managers and other members of the team, reviewing work and supporting their continued professional development.
• Building long-term relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to expand those relationships.
• Supporting proposals, pitches and new business development activity.
• Helping strengthen internal cost management processes, standards and best practices as the business grows.
• Working alongside senior leadership to contribute to the broader growth and direction of the Cost Management practice.
