Registered Nurse - TelemetryJob Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in neurology patient care License: Valid compact nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Client patient care experience Proficient at NIH scale Experience with a variety of neurology diagnoses Description: Position will float between units as needed. Weekends required: every other weekend. Reports to a designated supervisor on the unit. Expected patient ratio is 1:5. No on-call required. Experience in monitoring and managing telemetry patients. Ability to perform and interpret dysrhythmias. Provides care for patients with cerebrovascular accidents and traumatic brain injuries. Experience with pre- and post-neurosurgery care. Proficient in procedural sedation administration and monitoring. Strong team collaboration skills required. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapy and support services. Designated stroke unit and recognized center of excellence for specific neurological conditions. Must be comfortable floating between facilities if required. Refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours. Documentation is to be completed using the designated charting system. Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube care is desired.
