Construction Project Manager (Direct Hire)

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in Lexington, KY . In this role, you will initiate, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the construction process from start to finish. You will act as the central hub of our projects, hiring contractors, collaborating with engineers, architects, and vendors, and building lasting relationships with customers to serve their construction and engineering needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Project & Timeline Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of completion. Generate and track comprehensive project schedules covering design, engineering, bidding, buy-out, construction, and close-out.
• Client Consultation: Partner with customers to determine spatial and functional requirements for new builds or renovations. Prepare detailed design information, specifications, material options, cost estimations, and construction timelines.
• Contract & Financial Administration: Administer construction contracts, manage internal and subcontractor financial workflows, coordinate job billing, and track client payments.
• Design & Collaboration: Coordinate with our in-house design team to generate drawings for pricing and construction. Oversee drawing preparation and specification documents for design reviews to ensure owner budget and design goals are met.
• Bidding & Permits: Collaborate with the estimating department on project bidding and advertisement. Ensure all required state and local permits and licenses are secured.
• Field & Safety Oversight: Partner with job site Superintendents to monitor construction progress, worker productivity, and strict compliance with building and safety codes. Conduct client progress meetings to track performance and safety schedules.
• Problem Solving: Proactively address challenges like weather delays or client-requested change orders to minimize project delays.

Skills & Qualifications

• Project Mastery: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict, customer-initiated deadlines.
• Financial Acumen: Excellent budget management, cost-tracking, and analytical skills.
• Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Adaptability: High attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and adapt quickly to rapid changes in schedules or designs.

Education & Experience

• Industry Experience: 10+ years of overall experience in the construction industry.
• Management Experience: 5 to 10 years of direct construction project management experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or Business preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Other Requirements

• Must be eligible to work legally in the United States.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Salary + Bonus

Travel - Majority of projects are within a 3 hour radius and PM's will be home at night 70% of the time
