Overview Be part of a team redefining how mental health support shows up in schools. As a School-Based Mental Health Therapist, you’ll provide direct therapeutic services to students while working with educators, families, and Arukah’s integrative care team to foster healthier learning communities. This position qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program for eligible degrees. Arukah Institute of Healing, Inc. is a behavioral health organization committed to client-centered, accessible care that fosters prevention, wellness, and mental health in rural communities. Your work will empower students to navigate challenges, build resilience, and strengthen school communities. Responsibilities Deliver therapeutic services to students within the school setting, including assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. Conduct assessments, including risk assessments aligned with DSM-5. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling and prevention-oriented services. Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and referral when needed. Adopt evidence-based practices aligned with Arukah’s CCBHC model. Collaborate with school staff, families, and Arukah’s integrative care team; participate in weekly clinical group supervision and ongoing professional development. Represent Arukah professionally in school and community settings; maintain accountability for service delivery, documentation, and agency standards. Location and Primary Support This position primarily supports Midland Schools (Lacon, IL; Ottawa High School, Ottawa, IL; Hall High School, Spring Valley, IL). Qualifications Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university. LSW/LCSW or LCP/LCPC licensure in the state of Illinois (required). Formal training and experience in addiction counseling, suicide prevention, and/or trauma-informed care is desirable.
