Territory Sales Manager - Flooring Specification

Job Summary:
The Territory Sales Representative – San Francisco Bay Area is responsible for driving sales growth and brand presence within one of the most design-forward markets in North America. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with dealers, showrooms, builders, and the architecture and design (A&D) community. The successful candidate will be skilled in consultative selling, technically knowledgeable about hardwood flooring products, and comfortable using Salesforce CRM and sample management systems to manage a high-touch, premium territory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, builders, and A&D firms throughout the Bay Area.


• Act as the primary point of contact for all product, pricing, and specification inquiries.


• Leverage  Salesforce CRM to manage pipelines, track opportunities, log activities, and generate accurate forecasts.


• Maintain a well-organized sample inventory and ensure dealers and designers have access to up-to-date collections and displays.


• Conduct on-site presentations, product knowledge sessions, and showroom visits to promote Metropolitan’s brands and product lines.


• Support the specification process by providing technical product information, installation guidance, and sustainability documentation (FSC, LEED, low-VOC, etc.).


• Collaborate closely with internal operations, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless client support from order to delivery.


• Stay current on regional design trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities.


• Participate in trade shows, A&D events, and dealer promotions to strengthen market visibility and client engagement.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B sales,  preferably in hardwood flooring , or related design products.


• Proven success managing a high-volume or design-driven sales territory.


• Strong understanding of engineered and solid hardwood flooring, installation methods, and finishing options.


• Experience using  Salesforce CRM for territory management, reporting, and customer engagement.


• Skilled in sample and display management for dealers and A&D clients.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to speak confidently with both technical and design professionals.


• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while collaborating with a cross-functional team.


• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Territory sales growth and achievement of quarterly/annual sales targets.


• Number of active A&D firm and dealer relationships maintained and expanded.


• Specification conversion rate (samples to orders).


• Salesforce data accuracy, activity logging, and pipeline visibility.


• Dealer and client satisfaction based on feedback and retention.


• On-time and complete fulfillment of sample and display requests.
