Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspection, testing, and maintenance of all building components and equipment. Perform minor repairs. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS or Work Order System) to track maintenance and repair activities. Report deficiencies to the supervisor or manager. Able to work a flexible schedule as required by facility. Must be available for hours on call status, and able to respond to emergency events as required by the facility.Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesReviews work orders to determine work prioritiesSchedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operationsMaintains activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, and air required for operations, and telephone servicePerforms preventive maintenance inspections and tests in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance staffInspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standardsPerforms sheetrock installation, floating, tapping, patch repairs and skimmingMoves hospital department furniture, records and officesPerforms all painting tasks to include color selection according to established hospital specification of floor plansWorks in a safe manner; complying with hospital and O.S.H.A. standardsMaintains a clean and orderly work environmentAdheres to all Bayou Bend Health System personnel policies and procedures related to employment, dress code and work performanceFollows and complies with all Federal, State, Local and JCAH regulations within department and noncompliance reports as seen in other areasConfers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and take measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipmentAttends regular department safety meetings and in-services and is responsible for the overall safety program as it pertains to a Maintenance employeeFollows budget guidelines and Purchasing procedures when requesting equipment or materials for his workPerform all other duties as assigned by the manager and/or supervisorEducation/Qualifications/ExperienceAbility to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyWorking knowledge of all phases of maintenance, including: PlumbingCarpentryElectricalPaintingMechanical skillsAbility to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred but not required at the entry levelFive (5) years of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and experienceEqual Employment Opportunity Statement It is the policy of Bayou Bend Health System to provide equal opportunity to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other regard as required by law.
