Job TitleJob Overview:Pay Range: $25.07hr - $26.50hrRequirement/Must Have:Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.5+ years of experience.Responsibilities:Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection in a clear and courteous manner.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and fully understand physicians’ orders.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperature and appropriate collection containers to maintain specimen integrity.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Skills:Phlebotomy.Venipuncture.Specimen Processing.Centrifugation.Data Entry.OSHA Compliance.Microsoft Office Suite.Qualification And Education:Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment as required.
