Laser Technician Primary Staffing is hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Technician to support sheet metal fabrication and production operations. This position is responsible for operating, programming, setting up, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to accurately fabricate sheet metal components. The Laser Technician will work from technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders while ensuring finished parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, quality standards, and production goals. The ideal candidate has hands-on laser cutting or sheet metal fabrication experience and is comfortable working with CNC/laser programming and precision measuring tools. Responsibilities Operate and maintain laser cutting equipment, including 1 kW and 12 kW systems. Fabricate edge guards, flat goods, custom strikes, custom projects, and stainless steel hinge components. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Program, set up, and optimize laser cutting machines. Adjust cutting parameters to maximize material efficiency and meet production requirements. Perform quality inspections throughout the fabrication process. Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, to verify dimensions and tolerances. Identify and troubleshoot production or equipment issues. Follow established quality and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work independently and collaboratively to meet production goals. Support continuous improvement and quality control initiatives. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or trade school training in manufacturing or machining preferred. Fluent English required. Minimum 2+ years of laser cutting or sheet metal fabrication experience, or equivalent training. Hands-on experience operating laser cutting systems, including 1 kW and 12 kW equipment. Experience with CNC/laser programming, nesting, and machine setup. Understanding of sheet metal materials, cutting parameters, and tooling. Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Comfortable using precision measuring tools such as calipers. Basic computer skills for programming and production needs. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift, position, and secure materials up to 40 lbs.
