Portfolio Manager - Healthcare Commercial Banking

We’re building a relationship‑oriented bank for the modern world and we need a Portfolio Manager to join our Healthcare Lending team. The role involves managing the existing portfolio, evaluating new lending opportunities, conducting market research, and maintaining strong client relationships. Job Details Location: IL-120 S LaSalle St. Employment type: Regular. Weekly hours: 40. Responsibilities Support portfolio management of the existing Healthcare Lending business. Evaluate new lending opportunities and conduct market and industry research. Maintain strong client relationships and engage with clients and prospects to collect routine information. Analyze and opine on the financial statements of borrowers and prospects, assessing overall condition and viability with CIBC’s financial models. Prepare loan presentations and credit approval documentation for all required credit actions. Complete risk analyses of borrowers and prospects using the CIBC risk rating model. Manage CIBC’s client relationship database for existing transactions and future prospects. Develop skills to appropriately structure deals, including setting covenants and reporting requirements. Conduct market research comparing clients to local market peers. Qualifications 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Commercial Banking. Post‑secondary degree in finance, business or a related field. Knowledge of regulatory expectations and industry best practices in risk management. Experience in healthcare lending or commercial lending is an asset. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player able to work productively with colleagues toward common goals. Results‑oriented with a high degree of attention to detail. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Eligible for the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component.
