Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric populations, including medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies within a high-volume ED environment
• Perform triage, central line care and management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration while maintaining appropriate isolation precautions
• Manage respiratory and critical care needs including CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, interpretation of ABGs, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• May provide care for holding patients and may float to the Pediatric ED (rare); all floating is within the clinician's established skillset
• Participate in holiday coverage rotation — clinicians are expected to work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and ITTC De-escalation Training
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience with Adult ED experience required
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR required
• Former employees of the health system (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume emergency department with a broad patient census including pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric populations
• Familiarity with rapid decision unit workflows and fast-track emergency care settings
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure in an acute care environment
