Position DescriptionTitle: System AdministratorDepartment: TechnologyReports to: VP, Director of Information TechnologySupervises: NoneClassification: ExemptDate Prepared: April 17, 2026Summary/ObjectiveThe system administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and operating computer systems and servers reliably. The administrator also installs hardware and software and participates in research and development, contributing to the organization's continuous growth and development. The system administrator also actively resolves problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. The role requires an overall understanding of Business Continuity and Cybersecurity.Essential Job Functions:Act as lead IT resource on projectsSupport the Bank’s VDI / iWorkstation infrastructure including complete testing of new firmware and operating system versions before deploymentAct as escalation point for Help Desk and Senior Support Specialists on support ticketsResponsible for responding to help desk ticketsResearches, recommends, acquires and installs industry standard PC solutionsInstallation, configuration and testing of Bank’s remote laptops (Thin Clients)Testing new hardware peripherals.Provide support for Bank employees using remote equipmentResponsible for Bank’s phone system, adding, changing, deleting numbers.Assist IT management with updates to Bank’s IT Policy, Information and Cyber Security Policy and Cybersecurity assessment tool.Works as part of a team to resolve all data communication issues including telephone line, data line, telephone equipment or peripheral equipment failuresSkills & Experience:VMware experience is a plusUnderstanding knowledge of LAN/WAN networks and desktop technologyAbility to communicate and interact successfully with a diverse community and to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with the team and the employeesAbility to work both independently and with a teamStrong Problem solving and documentation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints when necessaryUnderstanding knowledge of Vulnerability toolsHardware/software installation and maintenance experienceExperience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, traffic, and content deliveryExperience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computingBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer scienceKnowledge of Unix systems administrationProfessional certificationPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Requires manual dexterity, the ability to move and lift, up to 50 poundsMust be able to travel to other worksitesMust be able to work schedules that meet the needs of the Bank, which may include early morning, evening and /or weekend hoursReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Other DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
