Ship Fitter

Ship FitterHutco Inc. is seeking first-class ship fitters for shipyards located in Port Allen, LA. Looking for first-class ship fitters only with shipyard experience. A test will be conducted on-site to assess your capabilities. It primarily repairs work on barges and boats. NO TWIC card is required.Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within the ship's hull for welding.RequirementsMinimum 2 years experience as a 1st class ship fitterOutfitting experienceMust know ship terminologyMust lay out and fabricate parts for shipsMust be able to burn, wash, and bevel with a hand torchMust pass a drug test and physicalMust be able to work all shiftsBenefitsA limited benefit plan is available to Hutco, Inc.
