Assembly Quality EngineerInside the role, the quality management team plays a key role in providing quality support for assembly line functions in Detroit. The open position of assembly quality engineer is a challenging position that involves working within a team atmosphere and providing line side problem solving support and data analytics.What You Drive At DTNACoordinate problem solving for various issues relating to defects per unit, first time through, and problems per millionCoordinates quality objectives with other departmentsDrives continuous improvement by developing and implementing error and mistake proofingKeeps management informed of progress, developments and pending problemsDrive issues to closure through quality feedback loops 1 through 5Analyzes assembly process data to look for trends or possible upcoming concerns.Works with Advanced Quality Tools (i.e., PFMEAs) to ensure a quality assembly processKeeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problemsAnalyzes SPC data and works with manufacturing engineering to make process improvementsKnowledge of GD&T and CMM operationsFacilitate others in the executions of Quality Improvement activitiesSupport project activity within the assembly processWorks in a plant environment, working hands-on with engine assemblyKnowledge You Should BringBachelor's degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology with 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related production environment.Experience leading root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to resolve product or process quality issues.Knowledge of quality systems, methodologies, and tools such as PFMEA, SPC, corrective actions, and continuous improvement practices.Experience analyzing manufacturing or assembly process data to identify trends, improve quality performance, and drive process improvements.Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to coordinate quality initiatives across cross-functional teams.Working knowledge of GD&T, CMM operations, and manufacturing quality inspection processes.Exceptional Candidates Might HavePrefers 2+ years of relevant experienceProduct knowledge of transmissions, Axles, EnginesSPC/MSA/PFMEA experienceExperience in manufacturing environmentCMM, GD&T, Blueprint experienceWhere We WorkThis position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s):Detroit, MI US.
