Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid New York State Special Education Teaching license, with all relevant endorsements/certifications
• Proven experience working with students in grades 11-12 with emotional or behavioral disabilities
• Ability to design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, proactive teaching approach
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction for students with emotional disabilities in accordance with their IEPs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support staff, and families to promote student progress
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, attending meetings as required
• Provide ongoing support and interventions that encourage positive behavior and emotional development
• Sustain a structured, supportive classroom setting that promotes student engagement and success
