Provides calm, supportive assistance during crises and helps sustain a welcoming, respectful environment aligned with YMCA standards and program goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Model the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with residents, staff, and partners. Complete resident intakes; maintain daily logs, files, and waiting lists with accuracy and confidentiality. Support residents with basic life skills (e.g., housing search, budgeting) and provide appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation. Monitor facility conditions; report maintenance needs promptly; assist with meal prep and unit readiness as assigned. Maintain inventories of food, cleaning supplies, and household goods; ensure common areas are orderly and safe. Serve as a liaison with Program Director, Senior House Manager, Case Managers, and community partners; participate in meetings as scheduled. Follow YMCA policies, emergency procedures, and mandated reporting/abuse-prevention protocols. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related social services experience. Crisis intervention skills; sound judgment and problem-solving ability. Computer proficiency; accurate recordkeeping and documentation. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays; bilingual and CPR/First Aid preferred.
