Department/Organization:  200015 - Institutional Research

Normal Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary:  The Institutional Research Analyst I provides analytical and informational support for University planning, operations, and decision-making and helps meet federal, state, System, reputational, and institutional reporting requirements. Completes clearly defined assignments independently under general supervision. Coordinates recurring work across established timelines, and safeguards confidential and sensitive information.

Additional Department Summary:  Serves as the primary operational coordinator for the Student Opinions of Instruction process and produces accurate reports, analyses, data extracts, and visualizations.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree or higher in an analytical, statistical, research-based, data-driven, or closely related field of study.

Skills and Knowledge:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, management, analysis, and reporting. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Working knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data appropriately. Ability to document processes, explain findings to varied audiences, and escalate policy or system issues when needed. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Ability to coordinate a recurring process with multiple deadlines, data inputs, communications, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in institutional research, higher education administration, survey administration or course evaluation processes, applied research design, dashboard development, data visualization, and relational databases. Experience with Power BI, SAS Visual Analytics, or comparable reporting and visualization tools.
