HistotechnicianPAML a Labcorp Company is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team in Tukwila, WA.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 pm to 5:30 am overtime and rotating weekends may be requiredJob ResponsibilitiesProcess human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient careOperate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as neededMinimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyPreferred Qualifications3 months or more of Histology experience3 months or more of Immunohistochemistry experienceHistology and/or ASCP certificationsBachelor's DegreeAdditional Job StandardsComfortable embedding both large and small specimensUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsAt PAML a Labcorp company we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. Apply today!Pay Range: $25.85 - $35.00 hourly plus shift 3 DifferentialsAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
