The Kitchen Commis will support the kitchen brigade by preparing ingredients, assisting in cooking, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace across our restaurant, room service, and events. Main Duties & Key Responsibilities Station Setup & Inventory: Set up and stock kitchen stations with all necessary supplies prior to service. Monitor inventory, restock as needed, and assist with the proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food products and leftovers. Food Preparation & Cooking: Carry out food preparation tasks including chopping vegetables, basic butchery, portioning, and sauce preparation according to established recipes and standards. Cook menu items under supervision and in close cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team. Service Execution: Ensure that dishes are delivered simultaneously, consistently, to specification, and in a timely fashion. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth, high‑quality service. Answer, report, and accurately follow all instructions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs. Safety & Sanitation: Maintain strict cleanliness and organization of workstations during and after service. Strictly adhere to nutrition, food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times. Professionalism: Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful attitude and approach toward coworkers and guests. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Proven cooking experience in a professional kitchen environment (e.g., as a commis, line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook). Technical Skills: Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food preparation procedures. Pace & Precision: Ability to work efficiently, with accuracy and speed, in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail. Core Competencies: Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills, with a willingness to take direction and an eagerness to learn and grow within a high‑standard environment. Certifications & Availability: Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Certification. Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends, is required.
