Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Location: Wichita, KSUnit: Occupational TherapyDaily Census: Approximately 250 active consults/dayStaffing: 30 staff members, with 17.29 FTEsStaff Composition: 2:1 OTR to COTA ratioPatient Ratios: Typically 9-13 patients assigned to each COTA dailyEquipment: General acute care DMEElectronic Medical Record (EMR): MeditechQualificationsMinimum Requirements:At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience in Occupational TherapyActive Kansas licensureCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience in trauma careExperience with comprehensive stroke careKey ResponsibilitiesConducting Occupational Therapy treatments as per patient care plansIdeal Candidate ProfileAbility to work independently with minimal oversight and a high level of accountabilityStrong communication and collaboration skillsFlexibility in adapting to the dynamic nature of acute care practiceThe unit features a large therapy team working within a complex acute care environment, handling a diverse range of diagnoses. The welcoming team fosters a collaborative work environment and offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate personal needs.
