Configuration Technician I

Configuration Technician I iT1, a leading national technology solution provider headquartered in Tempe, AZ, is looking for a Configuration Technician I to join our team. This role is a great entry‑level role in the IT consulting and managed services world. The Configuration Technician I is responsible for both internal and external facing responsibilities. In this position, you will be a critical point of contact between iT1 Consulting and the rest of the organization, as well as iT1’s customers, in setting up, configuring, and deploying Client assets. Set up and configure computers and peripherals based on the scope of work. Accurately diagnose problems with malfunctioning PCs, Macs, laptops, printers or other peripherals. Perform quality control on the assigned project. Follow project-specific instructions; every project is different. Respond to order requests and customer emails to assist in troubleshooting any problems that arise. Essential Functions Imaging laptops and desktops Hardware and software installations and configurations Troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware and software issues Bench testing refurbished devices such as PCs, monitors, switches, phones, etc. Desktop and laptop repair Server hardware configuration Small office installs Documentation Job Qualification Requirements 1-3 years of related experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills A+ certification or comparable experience Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems Working knowledge of common desktop applications Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware Ability to work full-time Occasional travel Dependable transportation Ability to multi‑task Physical Demands Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Standing for long periods of time Time spent in low postures (crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending) Climbing (ramps, stairs, or ladders) Sitting at a computer for 8 hours per day Keyboarding for 8 hours per day Reaching overhead Near vision (working with small objects or reading small print) Speaking (communicating information to clients / coworkers) Job Location iT1 Warehouse in Phoenix, AZ Working Hours Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM Hourly Rate $21 per hour Benefits Health, vision, dental, and life insurance On‑site fitness center at the main office 80 hours of PTO accrual first year, paid holidays 401(k) plan Full‑time job type *iT1 is an equal opportunity employer.
