Senior Estimator

Own our estimating function Macaro Railings is a growing commercial specialty contractor based in Trenton, NJ, and we're hiring an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of our estimating process end to end. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role - not a desk you inherit, but a function you run. You'll independently take a project from drawings all the way to a submitted bid, working shoulder-to-shoulder with ownership, our Director of Sales, drafting, and our customers. If you're the kind of estimator who wants real autonomy and a direct line to decision-makers, this is that seat. As we grow, this role can grow into leading an estimating team. What you'll do Review architectural drawings and specifications Perform digital quantity takeoffs (STACK) Develop project pricing and build complete, detailed estimates Prepare clear scopes of work and competitive bid proposals Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing Meet directly with customers to discuss project scope and pricing Work closely with the drafting team, Director of Sales, and ownership Manage multiple estimates at once and hit bid deadlines Improve and standardize our estimating procedures as the owner of the process What you bring Minimum 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience Proven ability to independently produce complete, accurate estimates Strong proficiency with STACK estimating software Strong proficiency with Bluebeam Revu Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings Strong communication and customer-facing skills Preferred: experience in commercial specialty trades - architectural specialties, millwork, glazing, fabrication, installation, commercial interiors, or similar. Real ownership - you run the estimating function and shape how it's done Direct access to ownership and a clear path to lead an estimating team as we grow Hybrid schedule (office + remote) after onboarding Performance bonus tied to results Compensation Competitive base salary based on experience, plus performance bonus.
