Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to support our electrical contracting operations. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely operating heavy machinery and equipment used in underground and overhead electrical installations, site preparation, trenching, and material handling. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility or commercial construction settings and a strong understanding of jobsite safety protocols. A CDL, Class A is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and boom lifts to support electrical installations
- Excavate trenches for conduit and duct banks to specified depths and locations per plans or site supervisor directions
- Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment around job sites
- Assist in placing conduit, vaults, and other electrical infrastructure
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations
- Read and interpret site plans and utility layouts when necessary
- Communicate effectively with electricians, foremen, and other crew members
- Assist with manual labor when equipment operation is not required
