The Role

Birla Carbon is seeking a Technical Service Manager to serve as the primary technical interface between Birla Carbon and customers across the Americas region. This role is responsible for providing technical support, driving product qualification and commercialization activities, resolving customer challenges, and supporting business growth through strong customer partnerships.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Quality, Product Development, and R&D teams to deliver technical solutions that enhance customer performance and strengthen Birla Carbon's market position.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, providing application expertise, product recommendations, and technical support.
• Partner with Sales teams to identify and develop growth opportunities within existing and prospective customer accounts.
• Lead product qualification, approval, and commercialization activities to support customer adoption and business growth.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Quality, and Marketing teams to develop and implement customer-focused technical solutions.
• Manage customer technical inquiries, product evaluations, testing programs, and sample coordination.
• Support the investigation and resolution of customer quality concerns and complaints, ensuring timely communication and follow-through.
• Gather and communicate customer, application, and market insights to support product development and commercial strategy.
• Maintain accurate project, opportunity, and customer information within Salesforce and other business systems.
• Deliver technical presentations and training to customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Birla Carbon at customer meetings, industry events, and technical forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of technical service, application development, product development, engineering, or customer-facing technical experience.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and customer relationship skills.
• Experience supporting industrial manufacturing, chemicals, polymers, rubber, carbon black, or related materials markets preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across commercial and technical teams.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and technical project management.
• Ability to travel up to 50% across the Americas region.
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
