Travel Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Must-Have: Must have 2+ years of ER experience. Must have 1+ year of trauma experience. Must have prior travel experience. Must be comfortable providing culturally competent care to a highly diverse population of patients. Must align with the mission to care for the community like family.

Description: Travelers with license issues related to medication diversion or endangerment will not be accepted. 100% EPIC experience is required. Shift cancelation policy allows for one shift per two-week period. Requests for time off can be made for up to 10 days without hospital approval for clinical pre-screening. Anything exceeding this amount, or that involves holidays, will need hospital approval. RNs manage their own long holds with assistance from RNs from other units as needed. There are separate psych/seclusion rooms monitored 24/7. In-house security is present. Approximately 250 patients are seen each day. Ratios in the main ED are 4:1, and in accelerated care (fast track) are 5:1. Critical care ratios are 2:1. Common diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory diseases, and behavioral health issues. Nurses are required to transport critical patients. All staff perform ECGs. MSTs and RNs draw blood samples. Shifts are variable with every other weekend and holiday requirements. No call or standby requirement exists. The scrub color for nursing staff is royal blue. Unit/department-specific orientation occurs on the first day with leadership and lasts 2-3 shifts bedside. Outdoor activities include running, hiking, and access to numerous parks and trails. Local attractions include national parks and downtown locations with various dining and shopping options. Sports events in the area include football, soccer, and baseball. Various lodging options include furnished rentals and extended stay facilities. Residents enjoy a diverse range of activities and cultural experiences.
