Position Overview:
The Dish Room Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the cafeteria by ensuring clean china, pots, pans, and silverware are continuously available. This position requires strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail to keep the dish room efficient and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Sort dishes, trays, and utensils returned by guests on the accumulator.

·         Load dishes and kitchenware onto the dish machine conveyor efficiently and safely.

·         Unload the dish machine, ensuring all items are clean, sanitized, and ready for return.

·         Return clean dishes, pans, and silverware to their proper storage locations.

·         Scrub pots, pans, and utensils as needed to maintain a steady supply for kitchen staff.

·         Clean and sort silverware, ensuring it is polished, sanitized, and organized for service.

·         Run trash to the dumpsters as needed to maintain a clean and safe workspace.

·         Wash, dry, and fold laundry such as kitchen towels & aprons, to ensure daily readiness.

·         Maintain flow in the dish room by recognizing and addressing bottlenecks.

·         Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a steady pace.

·         Assist teammates as needed, rotating between stations to support overall efficiency.

·         Follow safety and sanitation standards at all times to maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Teamwork Expectations:

·         Work cooperatively with other dish room staff to ensure smooth operations.

·         Stay alert to problem areas and offer assistance where needed.

·         Keep communication open and respectful, especially during high-volume periods.

·         Take shared responsibility for the overall success of the dish room.

Performance Goals:

·         Maintain continuous flow through sorting, loading, and unloading processes.

·         Prevent delays by communicating and adapting quickly to changing needs.

·         Support teammates to ensure all tasks—sorting, scrubbing, returning—are completed promptly.

·         Contribute to an efficient, clean, and positive work environment.

Essential Functions:
• Must be able to work on your feet for the entire length of the shift.
• Requires repetitive lifting of 20–50 lbs. throughout the day.
• Must move quickly and efficiently between tasks.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures or hazardous conditions.
• Must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and clear communication.
