Overview
Registered Nurse – Endoscopy in a travel assignment located in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date 10/26/2026 for a 13-week contract (travel temporary assignment) with guaranteed 36 hours per week and a 4x10-hour day shift. Weekly pay ranges from $2,634 to $2,855. Work is in a short-term acute care hospital setting with endoscopy/GI services, including bronchoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). The role involves direct patient care in the endoscopy suite, pre- and post-procedure assessment, and collaboration with the procedural team.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in the endoscopy suite during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (bronchoscopy, EUS, EBUS) under the direction of the endoscopist.
- Conduct pre-procedure assessments and post-sedation recovery, monitoring patient status and identifying adverse reactions.
- Assist physicians and advanced providers during procedures to promote optimal patient outcomes and safety.
- Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and supplies; ensure proper cleaning and handling per infection control standards.
- Document nursing care plans, vital signs, medications, and discharge instructions; interpret basic diagnostic data as available (lab results, imaging, EKG) to support care.
- Adhere to hospital policies on minimal/moderate sedation, patient safety, and discharge criteria; communicate with the healthcare team to coordinate care.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Endoscopy/GI nursing experience: minimum 2 years of recent field experience
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Ability to work in an endoscopy/GI hospital setting and to participate in a day-shift schedule with occasional on-call elements per scheduling needs
