Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Oncology Infusion RN Outpatient Clinic

Shift: 8-hour days, 07:4517:15 Hours: Up to 40 hours/week Weekends: No weekends required Call: None

Contract Length: 13 weeks

License: NC or Compact license acceptable pending submission

Certifications:

• ONS Chemo/Bio Card
• BLS/BCLS

Experience: Minimum of 2 years oncology-specific experience

Skills: Central line / implanted line care experience; Chemotherapy administration experience

EMR: Experience with Epic

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients receiving chemotherapy in an outpatient setting.
• Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions to treatments.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and care procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care delivery.
• Administer medications and manage infusion therapy as per protocols.
• Document patient care and responses accurately in the electronic health record.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 8 hours; hospital orientation during the first week; must be available for daily classes
• Drug testing/background: Candidate must complete testing within 48 hours after signing
• RTO policies: Initial RTO after booking is not allowed; auto-approve up to 7 days of RTO (not during holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week
• Scrubs: Navy blue scrubs required; not provided
• Infection control: Pre-shift COVID screening required. COVID vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
