Benefits Communication Specialist - Indefinite Contract

Hybrid - 4 days in office and 1 remote

Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00

Responsibilities:

•     Assist with updating the Health and Welfare Plan Document to reflect current plan provisions

•     Assist with updating the Long Term Disability Plan Document

•     Assist with updating the Short Term Disability Policy

•     Assist with creating any other benefits policies as needed

•     Track document changes, coordinate reviews with internal stakeholders and vendors, and maintain final versions

•     Review communications sent to employees by all benefits vendors for accuracy, consistency with company's plan provisions, and tone

•     Flag errors or inconsistencies and coordinate corrections with vendors

•     Maintain an inventory of vendor communications and their timing

•     Develop the 2027 benefits communications plan, including a calendar of key messages, audiences, and channels

•     Develop internal communications for HR Business Partners, managers, and other internal stakeholders

•     Draft and coordinate quarterly benefits communications to employees

•     Create a Welcome to the Benefits Team document that provides a general overview of the company and the benefits offered

•     Ensure all communications are clear, accurate, and consistent with K+N branding and plan documents

Qualifications:

•     2+ years of experience in benefits communications, HR communications, or a related role

•     Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

•     Working knowledge of employee benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k))

•     Ability to translate technical or legal content into plain language

•     Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred:

•     Bachelor's degree in Communications, Human Resources, English, or a related field

•     Experience reviewing or updating ERISA plan documents, SPDs, or disability policies

•     Experience building a communications calendar or plan

•     Familiarity with ERISA, ACA, and other benefits disclosure requirements

•     Experience with design tools (such as Canva or Adobe) for employee-facing materials
